New Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 for Taiwanese crane company Yueh Hsin

At the end of June, Yueh Hsin from Taiwan took delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane. To receive the new acquisition in person, the management team travelled to Liebherr’s manufacturing plant in Ehingen, Germany. The machine’s high lifting capacity, as well as its VarioBallast and VarioBase features, were the key criteria behind the purchase.

With the new 700-t LTM 1650-8.1, Yueh Hsin is making a targeted investment in the future. “The competition in crane hire in the 500-t class is tough – there are currently around 40 LTM 1500-8.1 models on the market,” said Tim Wang, deputy managing director at Yueh Hsin. “This is why we are deliberately opting for a model that not only delivers more performance, but is also versatile in use.”

In addition to the high load capacity, innovative technologies such as VarioBallast and VarioBase were crucial in the decision to purchase the LTM 1650-8.1. VarioBallast enables fast and simple adjustment of the ballast radius, optimises the load capacity and reduces the footprint required – translating into a clear advantage on narrow construction sites. Meanwhile, VarioBase offers a variable, asymmetrical support that allows static stability on uneven surfaces.

“For us, Liebherr is the ideal choice. Both the quality of the cranes and the exceptional customer service impress us,” said Mr Wang. “Another plus point is the high value retention and the attractive resale value of Liebherr mobile cranes. This gives us the security of knowing that our investment is a sound and cost-effective one in the long term too.”

The first job is already scheduled for the LTM 1650-8.1: the eight-axle crane will celebrate its début and demonstrate its performance on the construction of a new semiconductor production plant.

Based in the Taiwanese city of Tainan, Yueh Hsin currently employs 120 people and has a fleet of 60 cranes in total, 18 of them from Liebherr. The company’s core areas of activity include industry, the IT sector, chemical refineries, construction and projects in the energy sector.
